MG Motor has hiked the prices of Hector, Hector Plus, and Astor range of SUVs in India with immediate effect. This is the second price hike from MG Motor India for this financial year, as the previous price hike was introduced in April.
Prices for both the MG Hector and MG Hector Plus SUVs have gone up by Rs 28,000. As a result, the MG Hector range now starts from Rs 14.43 lakh (ex-showroom, India) for the base 'Style' trim equipped with a petrol engine and a manual transmission. This model was previously priced at Rs 14.15 lakh (ex-showroom, India).
Speaking about the price hike on petrol variants of the MG Hector SUV, a price hike of Rs 28,000 is also applicable in the 'Shine' trim level with both manual and CVT gearbox options. This takes the prices of the MG Hector Shine MT to Rs 15.48 lakh (ex-showroom, India), and Rs 16.68 lakh for the MG Hector Shine CVT variant.

However, prices of the variants such as Smart MT Hybrid, Smart CVT, and Sharp MT Hybrid were only increased by Rs 20,000. As such, these variants are now priced at Rs 17.40 lakh (ex-showroom, India), Rs 18 lakh (ex-showroom, India), and Rs 18.75 lakh (ex-showroom, India), respectively.
In contrast, prices for the top-spec Sharp CVT variant of the petrol-powered MG Hector SUV have been hiked by Rs 25,000, and this particular variant is now priced at Rs 19.73 lakh (ex-showroom, India). This same price hike is also applicable to the Sharp trim level of the diesel variant of the MG Hector SUV. As such, the model is now priced at Rs 20.36 lakh (ex-showroom, India).

Speaking of MG Hector Diesel variants, the Smart variant of the MG Hector SUV gets the least price hike of Rs 20,000. This model is now priced at Rs 18.90 lakh (ex-showroom, India). Whereas the Style and Shine trim levels get a price hike of Rs 28,000, and these variants are now priced at Rs 15.97 lakh (ex-showroom, India), and Rs 17.48 lakh (ex-showroom, India), respectively.
Coming to MG Hector Plus, all the 6-seater variants of the SUV received a price hike of Rs 25,000, along with the top two trim levels of the diesel-powered, 7-seater MG Hector Plus SUV. As such, the MG Hector Plus prices go all the way to Rs 20.35 lakh for the top-spec 7-seater, MG Hector in Select trim level.

As such, while there is no difference in the starting price of the MG Astor SUV, and it continues to attract customers with a starting price of Rs 10.32 lakh (ex-showroom, India), the top-spec MG Astor Sharp (O) Turbo AT is now priced at Rs 18.23 lakh (ex-showroom, India) after the latest price hike.
Thoughts About MG Motor Hiking Prices Of Its SUVs
MG Motor is one of the fastest-growing automobile brands in the country. Though MG Motor has hiked prices, it is highly unlikely to affect the sales of MG Hector or MG Hector Plus or MG Astor SUVs in India.
